Justice Specialist Reporting to the Executive Director and/or Team Lead, the Justice Specialist is a member of a Housing First Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team and works together to provide recovery oriented services in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner to current or formerly homeless individuals who have mental health issues and often abuse substances. This 1.0FTE position (35 hours/week; Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm) requires a compassionate, non-judgmental professional who is able to think outside of the box and is willing to go the extra mile. This position participates in joint case management and works collaboratively in a transdisciplinary team model. The Justice Specialist will use his/her knowledge of the legal system to advocate for clients involved in the justice system and to connect individuals to legal supports as appropriate. Housing First Clinical Team Housing Specialist/Case Manager Employer: CMHA, ASR/ARCHES Hours: 1.0 FTE RESPONSIBLE TO: Team Lead PURPOSE:  The Housing First Clinical Team Case Manager is a solution focused professional that helps people experiencing homelessness or have past experience in homelessness with complex and frequently co-occurring issues access and maintain housing. Each case manager supports 10 individuals at any one time, at different stages of housing stability. Interaction with each individual must occur weekly, the intensity and duration of which will be established by his/her state of housing stability. The Case Manager reports to a Team Lead that oversees fidelity to the Housing First philosophy and provides supervision and oversite to the program operations. The Housing First Clinical Team Case Manager is also responsible for accepting referrals from centralized intake and referral, locating and accessing housing within the community. The Case Manager is also responsible for working closely with the nurses, addiction and mental health specialists on the team to ensure that the participants are having their needs met in this capacity. Target Group: Have been homeless and/or are chronically homeless; Face multiple barriers i.e. substance use, relationship break down, transitioning, mental health issues, chronic medical issues, etc. and; Have trouble accessing supports in the community, and would benefit from case management and follow-up supports. Using a Tri-Disciplinary skill set, the Housing First Clinical Team Case Manager must be able to exercise the following skills: Locate and access housing based upon service participant preferences as well as affordability and appropriateness, assisting the service participant in signing the lease, and providing direct assistance in helping the service participant move into their choice of housing with furnishings and basic needs in place; Safely accompany service participants to appointments in the community and regularly conduct home visits; Complete home visits with addiction/mental health specialists/nurses when needed, to provide services to the service participant in home; Broker and advocate for services in home and amongst mainstream services including but not limited to: health, mental health and addiction services, income support, socio-recreational activities services to persons with developmental delays and/or cognitive functioning issues, cultural, spiritual, and/or religious services; Create person-centered service plans with tangible goals related to housing stability,...

This March, ARCHES (formerly Lethbridge HIV Connection) Society will welcome spring by hosting its annual Gerbera Daisy SPRING FOR LIFE fundraising campaign, and we are looking for your support to ensure its success. Spring for Life is one of our major fundraisers for the year, and all proceeds support the programs of ARCHES, which provides services to those living with HIV/AIDS in Southwestern Alberta. In order to make the campaign successful, we rely on the generosity of people and businesses like yours. The Spring for Life campaign features 5 brightly coloured mini Gerbera daisies for the low price of $5.00 a bouquet. The daisies can be pre-ordered anytime by emailing [email protected] or by calling the office at 403-328-8186 between 9 am and 4 pm Monday to Thursday.
